Handmade tables using reclaimed wood.

...and never expected these favors to develop into a full-fledged business. Brooklyn Farm Table opened in 1996. Operating first out of a studio on Plymouth Street in DUMBO (before the condo boom) then the New York Shipyards on Beard Street in Red Hook (before IKEA took over), Brooklyn Farm Table is now located on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Ralph Gorham of Brooklyn Farm TableRalph Gorham, founder of Brooklyn Farm Table initially used common and exotic woods to fabricate his tables, but as the construction boom exploded in New York City he noticed beautiful old wood that was being exposed for the first time. Ralph decided to preserve these grand old buildings by reclaiming their backbones, the aged beautiful wood, which ranges from Douglas Fir to long-leaf Heart Pine. The Brooklyn Farm Table in its classic form is a trestle-style table with a two inch thick top, fully crafted from the majestic turn of the century wood found all along the Brooklyn waterfront and adjoining neighborhoods. Certain custom options are available, including drawers, leaves and finishes.

Brooklyn Farm Table makes it possible for everyone to afford to “Own a Piece of Brooklyn.”
